Balloon Rocket Fun

For Andrew's birthday one of his friends gave him balloon rockets.  Basically, it is long balloons you blow up and then let go and they fly.  Last Sunday we tried them out and to say they were a hit would be an understatement.  I'm really not sure who had more fun, the kids or Brandon.  Here are some photos from the evening.

In case you can't tell, Brandon used a cake decorating tube to blow his up.

The girls had fun using the pump that came with the balloons

Andrew trying to blow the balloon up by himself like Dad did

The kids chasing the balloon.  Notice the balloon where the arrow is.

Had to include a cute photo of Spencer enjoying the evening outside.

Wankier Reunion part 4

This weekend was part 4 of my family's reunion. This time it was our turn since we were blessing Spencer. So we planned shooting rockets and playing whipple ball with a BBQ at the end. It ended up being very relaxing. The rocket show was put on by Brandon who had the time of his life and the kids had fun shooting and chasing rockets while the rest of the adults sat in the shade and enjoyed the show and chance to just visit.

The "Pop-fly," my favorite & Andrew's old favorite. It is a bat with a ball that sits on top until the bat starts down and then you get to try to catch the ball (blue arrow) while the bat comes down with a parachute.

Our newest & Andrew's new favorite, "The Mean Machine." It is only 7-ft tall.

The happy man himself!

Spencer being cute, as always.

Alexis with her cousins. They had the time of their lives together.

The baseball game.

Andrew is 5!

Andrew is 5 -- can you believe it? If he didn't act like it I wouldn't. :) Anyway, we had his "Rocket" party today and it was a "BLAST"!

Last night Karissa gave him a stomp rocket that he could shoot himself.

Doesn't he look like a boy having fun.

For his party we had the boys get their picture taken in front of white posterboard that I then photoshopped the board out of the picture and added a new background. We then printed these and glued them to some large rockets they colored when they arrived. They also colored a smaller rocket to use for "Pin the Rocket to the Moon".

Here is Andrew not quite getting to the moon.

Here is the "Blue Ninja" cake. The "Blue Ninja" is one of Andrew's favorite Rockets.

Here is the birthday boy himself

We saved the best activity for last. Shooting rockets off in the field next to us.

Here is Andrew shooting the "Pop-Fly" rocket. It has a ball on the top that "pops" off and then you can try to catch it.

And if you ever wonder why we like rockets, it is the look on the kids faces as they fire.

Nothing like the WOW! factor.

It was a lot of fun and now we are done with birthdays for another 6 months!
