A bird! A bird!

No seriously, it was a BIRD in our HOUSE!  And, sadly, enough, this is not the first bird we have had in the house.  The last one was a robin and I forgot to take a photo.  This is what we get for leaving the back door open.  Maybe the kids will learn eventually.

Here it is taking a break while trying to figure out how to get outside.

Future Chef???

We have been having blueberries around lately and the other night for dinner we had blueberry pancakes.  While everyone was just pour syrup &/or whipped cream on theirs, OR  tossing a few berries on, this is what Andrew did.  Apparently, it had to look as good as they tasted -- which was delicious!

Visit from friends

Once we returned from camping we (kind of) got the house ready for company.  Our friends the Infangers were driving from Alabama to Idaho/Canada and stopped for the night.  Karissa got to see her friend Lizzy.  When we lived in Nashville they were joined at the hip and we found they seemed to be good friends still.  As they left Sunday morning we got a picture of both of our Spencers and since it was early I was still in my PJ's but here we are all together

I can't believe I just posted this - Please say it is as bad as I feel it is and I usually look better than this.  Luckily the kids are cute enough to make it a bit better.

Roughin' it!

Some friends of our convinced us to go camping in the middle of nowhere.  I must admit it took a little convincing.  While outhouses aren't great, they are better than none.  However, I decided to give it a try and it turned out to be rather fun.

Spencer understood the point of camping rather quickly
Get as dirty as possible -- this was about 20 minutes after we arrived.

This served as our bathroom facilities - which were almost better than an outhouse, because it didn't smell

Plus, we had a pretty great view
Definitely, better than an outhouse!

The kids had a lot of fun.  Someone had built a teepee they had fun playing with
I just had to make this look rustic

Andrew found all the "weapons" he needed

And even convinced Alexis to play "lightsabers"
The babies spent a lot of time in the playpen to keep them (mostly Spencer) away from the fire.  Luckily if you supply pretzels Spencer was happy.  Plus they seem to enjoy "playing" together - mostly.

Brandon of course took advantage of the photo opportunities

Spencer found he loved camping and all the camp food
which is always better if Eaten out of the dirt.

If you have seen the documentary Babies you will understand why I felt like the African mama -- except we were more dressed

Slippin' and a Slidin'

We got a Slip n' Slide for the kids who have fallen in love.  Here are some photos from the inaugural "run," you'll notice no on went on their stomach.

Kid Pics

The other day my friend K invited us to go with them to the Botanical Gardens.  I have been wanting to go for a while to take photos of the kids so I grabbed the camera and ran.  I only ended up a few good ones, but found one of Alexis in some previously taken photos.
Karissa

Spencer

And I am still deciding between these 2 of Alexis
#1

#2

Which do you like?

-----------------
Now just to find one (take a good one) of Andrew

Failed attempts at photos

Here are some photos I love but weren't quite what I was looking for to put on the wall.

Not in good focus, but I LOVE this outfit - Thanks C!

Annoying bright hair!

Wacky Hair

 Crazy tongue!

TOO Cute but the tongue wasn't right for the wall

Notice my boys have problems with sticking out their tongues?

Lazy Sunday Evening

Last Sunday we spent some time in our back yard.  Spencer had to try out his new slide we were given by some friends.

Let's just say Spencer likes it.

We found he also like playing with (eating) chalk with Karissa

He likes doing this often this is from a previous day (and before a hair cut).

Alexis had to show off her painted finger nails

Then Spencer went exploring
and found the flowers.

I am so loving Albuquerque!

Camping in the backyard

Also, a few weeks ago (seeing a trend on how behind I am) my friend C called and said we should have a mother-son campout so we did.  Only those potty trained were invited into the tent.

We, of course had s'mores

along with other treats.  Spencer wasn't much into it and crashed earl

After the boys went to bed, C and I stayed up and watched Dr. Who on her IPad, it was a great campout!

Guess Who's One (A Few Weeks Ago)

SPENCER!!!

We celebrated with a couple of friends we have made here.  Basically, just some yummy food and cake and ice cream.  Spencer LOVES balls so we thought a ball cake was perfect for him.

He hasn't quite figured out what the whole blowing out thing is but he thinks it is fun.  The "1" candle has been used for all the kids first birthday which I think is kind of fun!

I had to add this photo, my friend C loves to rub his "brillo" head - perhaps for luck, but mostly because it feels cool!

This is a ball popping thing from Playskook that I don't remember the name of but Spencer loved it.  Just seeing it makes him get excited.  The kids also love playing with him.

Since he loves balls, he also got a large ball that he loves to chase around the house.

Earlier in the day he got his favorite breakfast
Muffins and Applesauce -- someone left the "empty" bowl a little too close to him.
